Remove some barriers
Scale back some of the hand-holdingAfter a few reps you can start to phase out some of the assists you may have put in place. Here we remove some of the barriers but not all at once. Again, you want to set your dog up for success, make sure they get it right from the get go.
Keep the rest of the exercise consistent. Remember to do at least 10 reps at each stage before making a change. If your dog gets it right 8/10 make it harder, if they get it wrong 3/10 make it easier, otherwise keep practicing at this level.
Practice from both directions.
When we move to group work you will need your dog to be quite versatile
