What do we cover?

Sniffy Dog Manners is geared towards dogs who have a natural draw to sniffing, whether they are dogs bred for searching or tracking or just a dog who lives with their nose on the ground, we use this innate interest and ability to help us teach foundation leash walking and recall.

Throughout we focus on teaching them to ask before they start searching rather than pulling and ignoring, and build in the search and sniffing into leash walking and recall so that they get satiation for doing what they want rather than frustration from being prevented from doing the things they love.

We always follow scientifically verified, aversion free training and behaviour techniques. There are no harsh methods or tools throughout. At all times we follow the code of ethics of both the APDT and IMDT.

Your notes for each session will be sent to you via email after the class.

This course is not suitable for dogs who are overly excitable on leash, who do not engage at all with people when out and about, who are reactive towards dogs or people, or who are excessively fearful. We have other suitable courses, training, or behaviour work for these cases.
